Job Summary

Responsible for dental assisting duties listed in Florida Statutes 466 and Administrative Rules 64B-5, screening and preparing patients for treatment; assisting the dentist in treating patients; educating patients; processing instruments; taking and developing radiographs.

This location has an additional location incentive of $500/month.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Dental Assistant diploma or certificate of completion from an accredited school or training program, including dental radiology required.
  • Successful completion of the Expanded Functions Dental Assistant Certificate (EFDA) within 9 months from the date of hire.

Experience

  • 2 years’ experience in a dental setting preferred.
  • Must have the ability to effectively use computer software and an electronic health record system.

Certification/Licensure

  • Current/valid Expanded Functions Dental Assistant Certificate (EFDA) within 9 months from date of hire required.
  • Current/valid BLS certification within 30 days of the date of hire.

Special Skills

  • Ability to stay positive in stressful situations.
  • Ability to deal professionally with unhappy, fearful patients.

Other Requirements

  • Able to work flexible hours and sites as needed.
  • Must have a valid Florida Driver’s license.
