This role requires specific expertise in Market Financial Data. Candidates must come from a background in:
- Investment Banking, Investment Management, or Broker-Dealers.
Experience having worked at or with data from leading financial data providers is highly preferred, including:
- Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, Refinitiv (Thomson Reuters/LSEG), S&P Global, Dow Jones, TradingView, Charles River, FlexTrade, LSEG Data & Analytics, and S&P Global Market Intelligence.
Position Overview
The Data Analyst for Financial Market Data will join the Data Platform Team within the Data & Analytics Group. The core function is to analyze enterprise and vendor datasets, establish a deep understanding of data characteristics and methodologies, and facilitate seamless data onboarding and lifecycle management.
This role requires a high degree of collaboration across business and technology teams, focusing on data profiling, cleansing, and quality control to enhance data pipelines and maintain robust quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct end-to-end analysis of business processes, data flows, and data usage to drive improvements in business productivity through re-engineering and data governance.
- Act as a liaison, interacting with business stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and address data-related needs and issues.
- Document comprehensive business requirements and use cases for data projects.
- Review and analyze data consumption patterns for core enterprise data within the IM Data Warehouse.
- Coordinate the onboarding of data from various internal and external sources into the central repository.
- Work closely with Data Owners/Owner delegates on detailed data analysis and the development of Data Quality (DQ) rules.
- Collaborate with IT to build and enhance data quality controls and pipelines.
- Manage the change control process and participate actively in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
- Support other initiatives within the Data & Analytics Group (DAG).
Key Qualifications / Skills
- Experience: 8+ years of dedicated experience in the Investment Management industry.
- Data Analysis: Extensive hands-on experience analyzing and interpreting investment data with comprehensive data analysis skills.
- Ability to detect anomalies, patterns, and data quality issues.
- Technical Skills: Strong SQL skills. Experience with Snowflake is a significant plus.
- Data Governance: Strong knowledge of Data Governance & Data Quality principles and relevant tools.
- Project Management: Hands-on experience in project management and the ability to manage enterprise-scale data projects.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in both formal and informal contexts, tailored for the audience.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with positions, trades, and transactions datasets.
- Familiarity with the Agile process and JIRA.
