Walker Elliott is hiring: Land Data Analyst in Houston

Our growing client is seeking a Land Data Analyst (Land Tech) to join their team and play a key role in advancing their land reporting and data analytics capabilities. This role blends technical acumen with a deep understanding of land data. You'll help streamline processes, improve data integrity, and create reporting solutions that drive smarter business decisions. The position offers a hybrid schedule (3 days remote / 2 days in-office), giving you flexibility while staying connected to a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support land reporting and data analytics initiatives across multiple systems.
• Develop and optimize SQL-based reports and queries, leveraging large data sets to deliver insights and automation.
• Evaluate existing reporting tools and identify opportunities for enhancement or automation.
• Manage and execute data integrations and large-scale data requests, particularly during acquisitions and divestitures.
• Collaborate with third-party software vendors and the internal digital team to stay aligned with system upgrades and process improvements.
• Maintain data accuracy and integrity through audits, validations, and quality control procedures.
• Assist with land technical support and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a land data-focused role within the oil & gas industry.
• Strong Excel skills (logical and lookup formulas, pivot tables, and working with large data volumes).
• Proficient in SQL, with experience writing queries and manipulating large data sets.
• Working knowledge of land systems and ERP platforms.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
