PERSONNEL STATUS: Seasonal

THIS POSITION IS SEASONAL WITH UP TO 40 HOURS PER WEEK FOR UP TO 6 MONTHS.

Job Overview

Under the general supervision of the Building Service Worker, responsible for care and maintenance of landscaping throughout the fairgrounds.

Essential Functions

• Operate mowers, weed eaters, trucks, tractors and other equipment.
• Use hand tools and some small power tools.
• Fix sprinklers and water pipes.
• Weed and maintain flower beds.
• Perform a variety of general custodial functions such as emptying trash, picking up litter, cleaning windows, sweeping and cleaning restrooms and other areas.
• Perform other duties in connection with the operation of the facility.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

Experience: Some experience in operation of mowers, weed eaters and other equipment and knowledge in landscaping.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Considerable knowledge of hand tools and mower usage.
• Minor engine repair work.
• Maintain service records of equipment.
• Repair sprinkling systems.
• Perform work requiring light, medium, and occasionally heavy physical effort.
• Follow direction and work well with others.

Your Special Qualifications

• Must possess or be able to possess a valid Utah Driver's License and have a good driving record.
• Must be adaptable to changing work hours as shift hours may be varied.
• Working days may include weekends and holidays.
• Successful candidate may be required to complete a pre-employment background check prior to starting the position.

Physical Demands

Employee frequently required to sit and talk or hear. Occasionally required to walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; lift and or move up to 50 pounds; work in extreme weather conditions.
