Overview

Reporting to the General Manager, the Warehouse Manager oversees all warehouse operations within a high-volume, cold chain food processing facility. This role ensures efficient product flow, maintains cold chain integrity, and drives operational excellence across a three-shift environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and technical expertise in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to consistently deliver world-class On-Time In-Full (OTIF) performance. This hands-on position emphasizes continuous improvement, team development, and exceptional service delivery to both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee warehouse functions including receiving, storage, inventory control, and outbound shipping; ensure cold chain integrity throughout handling and storage; drive OTIF performance by optimizing labor, equipment, and process efficiency; identify and implement operational improvements that enhance safety, quality, and throughput.
  • Team Development & Training: Lead and develop a team of three salaried supervisors across a 24/7 operation; establish a pipeline of high-potential talent to support long-term growth and succession planning; oversee training programs aligned with warehouse SOPs to ensure consistency, safety, and regulatory compliance; monitor team performance and lead training initiatives to enhance employee skills and maintain high safety standards.
  • Technology & Compliance: Utilize WMS to monitor inventory accuracy, streamline workflows, and support data-driven decision-making; conduct regular inventory audits and provide actionable recommendations to improve accuracy and operational efficiency; maintain accurate training documentation for compliance and operational tracking.
  • Safety & Collaboration: Champion a culture of safety through monthly meetings, investigations, and proactive engagement; collaborate with other departments to ensure optimal handling, storage, and movement of products throughout the facility.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration preferred.
  • Proven experience in a warehouse management role, ideally within cold chain or food logistics.

Operational Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of warehouse procedures, inventory control, and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated success managing multi-shift operations and salaried leadership teams.
  • Proven track record of achieving On-Time In-Full (OTIF) and other key operational KPIs.

Leadership & Communication

  • Advanced leadership skills with the ability to teach, coach, and mentor teams for performance and growth.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred.

Working Conditions

  • This role operates in a wet and refrigerated/freezer environment (-10° to 35° F) located within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production facility. Must be able to withstand cold temperatures for extended periods.
  • This is largely a static role with standing, but may require repetitive bending and standing; ability to lift 10-35 lbs repetitively and up to 45 lbs occasionally; depending on area, able to push/pull up to 250 lbs on rollers occasionally.
  • Must be able to walk the production floor with a hands-on approach to problem solving.
