Position Summary
The Salvation Army USA Eastern Territory is hiring a Janitor to maintain the Delaware State Facility.
Pay Range: $15.00/hr – $15.00/hr (non‑exempt, $15 per hour)
Location: Janitorial, The Salvation Army Delaware State Office
Availability: Immediate
Schedule: Full Time – Monday through Friday
Reporting Relationship: Facility Manager/Assistant Facility Manager/State Coordinators

Description of Position
This individual will clean and maintain assigned areas in the Delaware State Facility indoors and outdoors as required for the efficient and effective operation of Salvation Army programs.
Responsibilities
- Clean all assigned areas.
- Rooms – You are responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of every room in your zone.
- Empty trash and clean trash receptacles in and out as needed; discard trash in the parking lot dumpster.
- Help maintain outdoor areas as directed to include shoveling snow, cutting/trimming grass, weeding, litter pickup and disposal.
- Maintain supplies and equipment and notify supervisor when in need of additional supplies.
- Respond to staff and leadership to assist with carting supplies, materials in and around the facilities for regular and seasonal activities; this may include unloading trucks, donations of toys and canned food, and assisting with toy shop set‑up, breakdown and operations.
- Assist with driving to pick up supplies, donations, etc.
- Report on maintenance and safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the State Coordinator necessary for the normal, safe, efficient, clean operations of The Salvation Army programs under the Delaware State Offices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to follow directions and operate cleaning equipment (buffer, vacuum cleaner, mops, shovels, lawn mower).
- Valid Driver’s License preferred.
- Legal age to work or have working papers.
- Must be able to obtain clearances required by the Joseph R. Biden III and the Child Protection Act.
- Must have an understanding of and support for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
