About the Company
Our client is a leading real estate investment and development firm headquartered in Baltimore. The company is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee core financial operations and support continued growth.
Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will lead day‑to‑day accounting functions, manage reporting cycles, and ensure compliance with industry‑specific financial standards. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in real estate accounting, including property‑level reporting, lease accounting, and investment tracking.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare financial statements and investor reports
- Monitor cash flow, capital expenditures, and budget performance
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and real estate‑specific accounting standards
- Collaborate with asset management, development, and finance teams
- Supervise junior accounting staff and coordinate with external auditors
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in real estate
- Strong understanding of property accounting, lease structures, and investment reporting
- Experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar real estate accounting platforms
- CPA heavily preferred but not required
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Salary up to 120k
