📌 Job Opening: Legal Secretary - Bankruptcy, Real Estate & Litigation Support

Location: Baltimore City
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience Level: 3-5 Years Preferred
Salary: $65-70K

About Us: Our Client is a dynamic law firm with a strong focus on bankruptcy, real estate, litigation, and insurance law. We are committed to providing high‑quality legal services with professionalism and care.

Position Summary: This role is ideal for a legal secretary with 3-5 years of solid law firm experience, strong bankruptcy law knowledge, and exposure to real estate and litigation matters. The position will primarily support our bankruptcy and real estate legal teams, but also serve as a floater between departments, offering coverage where needed‑especially in litigation.

Note: This role requires experience in a defense or transactional law firm setting. Experience solely in plaintiff work does not translate well. Insurance law experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, format, and file legal documents for bankruptcy (Ch. 7 & 13), real estate transactions, and litigation cases.
  • E‑file through ECF/PACER and various local/state court systems.
  • Manage attorney calendars, schedule hearings, client meetings, closings, and litigation deadlines.
  • Maintain organized case files and support legal research and document management.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and external parties.
  • Assist with litigation support tasks, such as discovery coordination, trial prep, and file maintenance.
  • Provide secretarial float coverage across departments as needed.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status. We consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with state and local laws, including the California Fair Chance Act, City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance.
