The Nursing Secretary assists the Registered Nurse by observing and documenting patient conditions under close supervision. The role supports patient care through progressive mobility and help with daily tasks as needed.

• Supports patients with daily living tasks, including meals, personal care, and progressive mobility to aid recovery and care plans.
• Assesses patients' quality of life related to nutrition, hydration, and elimination to distribute resources and anticipate needs.
• Admits, transfers, and discharges patients to appropriate locations in line with the care plan.
• Assists with patient elimination needs, including ostomy care, enemas, and condom catheters to provide comfortable care.
• Helps maintain unit inventories of supplies and equipment to ensure a clean and safe environment in adherence to National Patient Safety Goals.
• Checks that fall‑risk patients have appropriate armbands, socks, and signage to ensure physical safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: 1 year of related experience.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR) – American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
