Department Overview

Job Description and Duties
Provide American Sign Language interpretation services to support CAL FIRE personnel and the public during emergency incidents, training, and community outreach. Responsibilities include responding to sign‑language users, interpreting at incident scenes, assisting with communication during fire suppression operations, and ensuring accurate translation of technical information.
Special Requirements
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required.
