American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter (Part-Time) Position Title: American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter Location: Cleveland, OH (on-site) Company: Becker Digital (Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business) Part-Time (1099) Contract Position Overview Becker Digital is seeking qualified American Sign Language Interpreters to provide on-site interpreting services in Cleveland Ohio. Interpreters will support a staff member with hearing loss by facilitating communication during patient appointments, clinical team meetings, and related workplace interactions. This position involves weekday interpreting with occasional on-call emergency coverage during standard business hours. The work is conducted in a professional clinical environment serving patients and healthcare staff. Key Responsibilities Provide on-site ASL interpretation for clinical encounters, meetings, and training sessions. Convert spoken English into American Sign Language and vice versa accurately and clearly. Maintain professional conduct and confidentiality in compliance with standards. Be available for occasional emergency interpretation within 2 hours of request (estimated once per month). Maintain effective communication with the project manager and the point of contact. Arrive on time, maintain neat professional appearance, and comply with hospital check-in/out procedures. Required Qualifications Education: Certificate or Associate Degree in ASL Interpretation or equivalent credential. Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional interpreting experience, preferably in healthcare, government, or academic settings. Certification: RID or equivalent certification preferred (not mandatory if degree or certificate provided). Skills Proficiency in medical and technical terminology. Strong ethics, accuracy, and confidentiality. Professional demeanor and reliability. Clearances Must pass background screening prior to assignment start. Schedule and Hours Part‑time position — hours based on availability, with up to 30 hours per week maximum. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday during normal business hours (approx. 8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.), though times may vary slightly based on clinical needs. Interpreting is provided as needed during scheduled periods, not continuously throughout the day. Occasional on‑call or emergency coverage may be requested, with a required response time of within 2 hours during standard work hours. Compensation Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience and credentials.
