Field Service Engineer (Indianapolis, IN)

Position at BD. You will provide on‑site support to BD customers, including installation, servicing, and repair of diagnostic instrumentation, as well as after‑hours phone and weekend support. You will also participate in marketing activities, exhibitions, and clinical trials support.

Responsibilities

• Install and service instrumentation with minimum direct supervision, following ISO and GMP standards.
• Call customers who have recently received service to ensure satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, tools, and technical data.
• Complete service documentation per GMP requirements.
• Control travel and site visit expenses within established guidelines.
• Report quality control and technical problems to the Service Center and System Support Engineering Manager.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve customer issues.
• Manage company credit cards, travel advances, vehicle, and spare parts inventory.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• 3 years of experience troubleshooting instruments or components.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Flow Cytometry.
• Technical military training.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related fields.
• Prior Field Service Engineer experience.
• Experience with medical device instrument troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel).
• Familiarity with Mac and PC operating systems.
• Experience with digital voltmeters and oscilloscopes.

Salary Range: $24.90 – $38.70 USD hourly
