Assistant Professor of English, Creative Writing The Department of English at Jacksonville State University invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in Creative Writing, with a specialization in Fiction and a secondary specialization in Creative Nonfiction, to begin Fall 2026. The successful candidate will participate in and help shape the departments Creative Writing programs. This faculty member will teach four courses per semester in creative writing, composition, and literature at the undergraduate and graduate levels; conduct scholarly/creative research sufficient for tenure and advancement; and engage in appropriate department, school, and university service. Ph.D. or MFA in Creative Writing, with an emphasis in fiction writing required by August 2026. Preference may be given to candidates with a Ph.D. Ability to teach composition and evidence of good teaching and scholarly potential are also required. Salary contingent upon qualifications, experience, and needs of university.
