About the Opportunity
Shift:
Days, Afternoons, or Nights Schedule:
5 shifts per week Hours:
8am to 4:30pm
or
3:30pm to 12am
or
12am to 8:30am Setting:
Acute Care
Responsibilities: Fills prescriptions and patient orders, resolves discrepancies in patient therapy, and follows-up on problems Utilizes clinical data in evaluating physician orders to ensure appropriate therapy Provides and documents drug information and patient counseling Documents interventions, adverse drug reactions (ADRs), and medication errors Directs and utilizes personnel including technicians, aides and clerical staff Assists in the monthly inspection of the patient care units and the Pharmacy Maintains adequate medication supply in individual work area Operates and troubleshoots automated dispensing systems, as needed Advises prescribers on alternatives for non-formulary drugs Utilizes Outpatient and Inpatient computerized systems to enter and access patient care information Coordinates and analyzes statistics and/or clinical data Participates in quality management and utilization review programs Performs other duties, as needed Qualification: 1+ year of experience as a Pharmacist in a Hospital and/or Retail setting Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree An active NYS Pharmacist license Experience with a Pharmacy Dispensing system Sterile Processing experience IV room experience Desired Skills: Knowledge of an EMR (Electronic Medical Records system)
