Job Summary
The Security Service Supervisor has supervisory responsibility over a group of Security Service Officers on an assigned shift and performs the more difficult security duties at the advanced operational level.
The Security Services Supervisor may provide direct on-site supervision of Public Safety or Health Safety Ambassadors to ensure compliance with stated policies and program services. Incumbent will serve as the site/shift Supervisor and will provide direct liaison of all critical matters to the Security Administration team members in their absence, to ensure compliance with departmental or organizational policies, procedures, and defined internal controls.
Ensures accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental standards and procedures.
The annual salary range for this position is $65,800 - $98,800.

Department Description
The UCSF Police Department provides contemporary police services, including criminal investigation, community policing, crime prevention and suppression, emergency management, and site security services to a daily population of over 60,000 people at University and contract locations. Founded in 1864, UCSF includes the 107-acre Parnassus campus that is home to graduate professionals in dentistry, medicine, nursing, and pharmacy; a graduate division for pre- and postdoctoral scientists; UCSF Medical Center; UCSF Children's Hospitals; and Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute (LPPI). UCSF is considered one of the nation's premier health sciences teaching, training, and research centers. UCSF is the only UC campus dedicated exclusively to the health sciences.
The UCSF Police Department is known for its community service orientation, effectiveness at preventing crime through campus community involvement, and for providing a safe living and working environment for the promotion of education, research, and public service. The Professional Standards Division is responsible for providing financial and personnel services for the department.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent experience. Four (4) years' work experience in Security Services One (1) year of proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others to achieve common goals. Customer service-oriented to quickly address questions or issues. Ability to work with all age groups and individuals from diverse backgrounds Past work experience with communications equipment, Reporting systems, CCTV monitoring, and all on-site security equipment. Demonstrated leadership skills in mentoring and advising employees. Actively cooperates and supports the work of others. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and execute plans to meet deadlines. Organizational skills to be applied to coordinating assigned staff schedules and unit operations. Ability to write reports Ability to apply judgment to quickly evaluate issues and identify a potential solution on the spot within defined procedures and policies. Interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and/ or stressful situations with a multi-cultural population and escalate appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree or higher. Knowledge of regulations regarding hazardous materials, fire codes, building codes, and all other relevant safety requirements, and ability to apply concepts to operations in the assigned unit Knowledge of organization, HR, and UC policies and processes. Knowledge and ability to monitor compliance with relevant regulatory agencies' federal and state requirements. Working familiarity with hospital-related emergency events. Experience with integral video recording, Occularis video, Manitou Alarm monitoring, access card protocol, Security System software, and radio dispatch experience.
License/Certification
Licenses (required):
Valid California Class-C Driver's License California Guard Card. (BSIS)
Certifications (preferred):
IAHSS Basic Security Officer Certificate (within 30 days of employment) IAHSS Advance Officer Certificate. (within 60 days of employment IAHSS Supervisory Certificate (within 120 days of employment) AVADE certification or similar management of assaultive behavior certification program PC832 California POST
