Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Healthcare IT Project Manager to lead and coordinate a Role-Based Provisioning (RBP) project across a large, enterprise-level hospital system. This role will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of initiatives that align user access with job roles across clinical, administrative, and technical departments. The Project Manager will work cross-functionally with IT security, HR, clinical operations, and application owners to ensure accurate, secure, and compliant provisioning of user access within EHR and enterprise systems.
Responsibilities: Project Leadership: Lead the end-to-end management of the Role-Based Provisioning project, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, IT security policies, and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST). Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and technical leaders to gather requirements, define roles, and validate access needs. Access & Identity Management Coordination: Work closely with IAM teams to define and refine role-based access rules, provisioning workflows, and integration points with HRIS, EHR (e.g., Epic, Cerner), Active Directory, and other enterprise applications. Process Mapping & Role Definition: Coordinate discovery sessions to document current workflows and access patterns. Assist in defining standardized role templates based on department, job function, and compliance requirements. Change Management: Support organizational change management by helping departments transition to role-based access controls. Provide input on training, communication, and support strategies. Timeline & Budget Oversight: Develop and manage project plans, resource allocation, and budgets. Track progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery. Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure that all provisioning processes meet audit, compliance, and cybersecurity standards. Support internal and external audit readiness. Reporting & Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation and regularly report status updates to leadership and key stakeholders. Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in
IT Project Management , preferably in
healthcare
or hospital systems Strong understanding of
Identity & Access Management (IAM)
principles, especially role-based provisioning Familiarity with
EHR systems
(Epic, Cerner, etc.),
Active Directory , and
HRIS integrations Experience working in environments governed by
HIPAA, HITECH , and other healthcare compliance standards Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex projects with multiple stakeholders Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira)
