Position Overview

The Commercial Printing Production and Packaging Associate plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of the print production floor. This position is responsible for preparing, operating, and maintaining printing and finishing equipment, inspecting quality, and packaging printed materials for delivery. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operation

• Operate and assist with commercial printing equipment (e.g., digital, offset, or large-format presses)
• Follow production schedules and job specifications accurately
• Monitor print quality and make necessary adjustments to ensure color, registration, and finish meet standards
• Set up and operate finishing and bindery equipment (cutters, folders, laminators, stitchers, etc.)
• Troubleshoot basic printing and finishing equipment issues and perform routine maintenance

Packaging & Fulfillment

• Inspect printed materials for quality assurance before packaging
• Count, sort, and package finished products according to job orders and customer requirements
• Label and prepare products for shipping or delivery
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure product safety and accuracy
• Work closely with shipping, inventory, and production teams to meet deadlines

Safety & Quality Control

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Maintain high-quality standards throughout the production process
• Report equipment malfunctions, material shortages, or quality issues promptly
• Assist with maintaining accurate records of completed jobs and production logs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience in commercial printing, packaging, or manufacturing preferred
• Familiarity with print production processes and finishing equipment (preferred but not required)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
• Basic computer skills and ability to follow written job tickets or digital production instructions
• Meet background requirements
