The Server is part of the Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort & Spa culinary team which crafts distinctive dishes and a memorable dining experience for guests. The Server provides outstanding and genuine service by taking drink and food orders, while displaying menu knowledge and offering recommendations.

Position Summary:

The Server is responsible for providing outstanding and genuine service by taking drink and food orders while displaying menu knowledge and offering recommendations.

Salary Rate: $16.50/hr

Responsibilities

  • A warm personality, attentive, and presentable.
  • Committed to delivering high levels of customer service.
  • Responds courteously and efficiently to queries and problems from guests, and all staff.
  • Takes food and beverages orders, using POS System(s) to ring items in.
  • Ensures opening, ongoing and closing side work is complete and signed off by a manager on duty.
  • Responsible for brewing coffee and tea prior to shift and dumping out extra after shift. Able to make espresso-based drinks.
  • Ensures supplies/product are properly stocked before, during and after shift.
  • Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude.
  • Preparing and rolling enough silverware for your shift and the next shift.
  • Sweeping, vacuuming, and keeping the dining room clean before, during and after your shift.
  • Maintains awareness of safety issues and reports all safety incidents to MOD.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and follows all Miramonte Resort dress code standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Assists in removal of service ware from tables and countertops and places them in trash receptacles.
  • Ensures proper bookkeeping and proper payment is received.
  • Checks identification to verify age requirements for alcohol purchase/consumption.
  • Offers menu advice and suggestions to guests.
  • Maintains knowledge of food & beverage trends and provides resort information to guests.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all resort activities and events; upsells resort services and amenities.
  • Communicates all pertinent information to the team.
  • Efficiently closes out checks on POS.
  • Resolves guest issues promptly and with care.
  • Greets and farewells guests warmly, using guest names when possible and maintaining eye contact.
  • Interacts with resort staff professionally and assists other departments as needed.
  • Follows through on lost and found procedures, returning items to the hotel front desk for guest reclaim.
  • Remains alert, courteous and helpful to guests and colleagues at all times.
  • Ensures guest/table is taken care of to the best of availability.
  • Final quality check on food and beverage prior to serving guests.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Mature, pleasant, courteous, cooperative and a collaborative team player with good human relations skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Must possess valid Food Handler’s card and RBS certification upon hire.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately (verbal and written).
  • Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer knowledge and professional appearance.
  • Be able to maintain teamwork and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to resolve problems calmly and diplomatically.
  • Passion for creating an exceptional guest experience.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma.
  • At least one year of food & beverage experience preferred.
  • At least six months experience with POS systems preferred.
