Job Summary
This position is responsible for the maintenance of county buildings and facilities. Major Duties
Cleans, sanitizes, and details restroom: refills dispensers; stocks supplies. Dusts and wipes furniture and fixtures. Sweeps, mops, and vacuums floors; strips, cleans, waxes, and buffs floors. Empties and cleans trash receptacles. Loads and unloads supplies; stocks and organizes storage area. Cleanse spills and broken glass. Moves furniture. Assists with setting up for special events. Reports maintenance needs to supervisor. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and special events. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, and moving of objects. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean floors in restrooms, offices, exhibit halls, and public spaces. Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the grounds and facilities. Clean and sanitize restrooms, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures; restock supplies as needed. Wash windows, walls, and doors as required. Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment for events, meetings, and rentals. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages to supervisor. Operate cleaning and maintenance equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and pressure washers. Assist with light maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs or minor repairs. Ensure all custodial closets and storage areas are kept clean and organized. Performs any other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the materials, equipment, and methods used in the custodial maintenance of public buildings. Knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of custodial equipment. Knowledge of safe work practices. Skill in decision-making and problem-solving. Skill in communicating with others. Ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language and orally in the Spanish language.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of one ( 1 ) year of custodial work experience.

Complexity/Scope of Work
The work consists of related custodial duties. The variety of tasks to be performed contributes to the complexity of the position. The purpose of this position is to perform custodial maintenance of county buildings. Success in this position results in safe and well-maintained buildings.
Physical Demands/Work Environment Occasionally
Operating machinery and/or power tools. Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment. Driving a County vehicle or a personal vehicle. Working in low temperatures Working in high temperatures Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind. Working in noisy environments. Working in hazardous conditions. Working in adverse environmental conditions is expected. Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. Light work that includes carrying objects up to 20 pounds. Medium work that includes carrying objects up to 50 pounds.

Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, or poles, Moving oneself in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces. Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods. Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. Adjusting or moving objects up to 30 pounds in all directions. Communicating with others to exchange information. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.

Must possess a valid and current driver's license. Drug and Alcohol Policy applies to this job. Pre-employment drug/alcohol testing, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and criminal background checks are required. This position is covered under Civil Service; however, all other Webb County policies apply.
