Restaurant Manager – IHOP
The IHOP Restaurant Manager reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for managing front‑and‑back‑of‑house operations, focusing on profitability, sales growth, and maintaining IHOP's quality and service standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage all areas to achieve positive sales growth and exceed company goals in profit and loss categories.
- Oversee daily operation during scheduled shifts, including decisions, staff support, guest interaction, scheduling, sanitation, and product quality.
- Provide feedback and coaching to employees and enforce uniform standards.
- Conduct line checks in the galley for weight, temperature, cleanliness, and organization.
- Ensure proper staffing levels to meet guest satisfaction and sales goals.
- Interview, hire, and train high‑quality hourly candidates.
- Conduct orientations and follow up with IHOP training program.
- Prepare end‑of‑shift reports (Daily Sales, Cash Interims, Labor controls, etc.).
- Prepare food production checklists and ensure proper implementation of recipes.
- Order food, smallwares, uniforms, and other products to maintain operational standards.
- Identify operational opportunities and implement improvement plans.
- Approve and sign food or beverage discounts.
- Ensure a safe working and guest environment, reporting accidents to the Area Supervisor.
- Maintain company security procedures for employees, guests, and assets.
- Keep supervisors informed of unit issues and take corrective action.
- Complete responsibilities and performance objectives timely and per policies.
- Represent IHOP positively to promote its goals and public recognition.
- Perform all duties as required or requested.
- Work generally indoors, with occasional outdoors, nights, weekends, holidays, unpredictable hours, and willingness to relocate.
