Job Description Salary: $37,500+ School Overview St. Louis Voices Academy of Media Arts is an innovative charter public school serving students and families within St. Louis City. The school began with kindergarten through first grade and will add one grade per year, ultimately serving grades K5. St. Louis Voices Academy emphasizes media and storytelling, whole-child development, real-world inquiry, and progressive learner autonomy as foundational design elements supporting its mission.

Mission: St. Louis Voices Academy leverages media arts and storytelling to equip students with the agency to excel academically, author their own futures, and make meaningful contributions to their communities

Role Overview We believe that children may need more academic and social-emotional support than one teacher can offer a room of more than 20 students. To this end, skilled and caring Apprentice Teachers/Academic Interventionists assist and support students's academic and social-emotional needs. This role serves as a unique opportunity for talented individuals with limited or no teaching experience to explore the field of education and gain hands-on training to become successful classroom teachers.

Responsibilities Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups of students Assist teacher with classroom management and general supervision of the class Assist with administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materials Supervise students in the cafeteria, specials, hallways, during recess, and on field trips Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs Support students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration Implement and enhance the schools systems and culture Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues Commit to professional growth Perform all duties as assigned. Qualifications Missouri Substitute Teacher Certification (ability to obtain in 1st 30 days Experience: 1-2 years in teaching, tutoring, or youth development (preferred) Commitment to Student Growth: Passion for supporting academic and social-emotional development Core Values: Embodies our values of Community, Commitment, Courage, Confidence, Compassion, and Celebration Problem-Solving Skills: Thrives in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities with a strategic, proactive approach
