Summary
The Lead Charge Nurse (LCN) is responsible for the coordination of staff and material resources in the various clinical areas of the Emergency Department with an ultimate goal of promoting safe, cost-efficient, quality care and patient satisfaction.Current North Carolina licensure for RN, BSN preferred. 3-4 years emergency nursing experience. Minimum of one year management experience. Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills. Demonstrated effective organizational, teaching and leadership skills. Is knowledgeable of the physiological, psychosocial and spiritual needs of the patients typically served.Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient needs. Visual acuity for observation of patients. Much standing, walking, bending and lifting with demonstrated good body mechanics. Position may involve skin, eye, mucous membranes, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material.
