Position Summary
You will be responsible for planning and scheduling production workflows in a print and fulfillment facility. The Planner ensures that jobs are scheduled efficiently, materials are available, and operations run smoothly—supporting Sales, Manufacturing, and Logistics teams in meeting customer deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Review job orders and specifications to establish realistic production start dates and completion timelines.
Coordinate with Sales, Estimating, PreMedia, Press, Finishing & Distribution to align job flow, materials, and capacity.
Maintain the master production schedule, adjusting as needed when priorities or materials shift.
Monitor inventory and material availability; flag shortages or lead time issues to Purchasing.
Communicate schedule changes, delays or production constraints to stakeholders.
Analyze production performance and delivery data to identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
Support on-time delivery by forecasting workload and proactively planning staffing, shifts, or equipment usage.
Ensure that planning processes comply with quality management systems (e.g., ISO) and company standards.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business, manufacturing, or related field .
2–4 years of planning or production scheduling experience in a manufacturing or print/fulfillment environment .
Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.
Able to work with scheduling software, Excel/spreadsheets, and production tracking tools.
Understanding of printing workflows, materials, job orders and fulfillment operations is a plus.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and adjust quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Primarily office-based work using computer, phone and monitoring systems.
Occasional walk-through of production floor, including standing, walking, bending as needed.
Work performed in a manufacturing/printing facility with noise, moving equipment and production environment.
