This role will partner with business leaders across PayPal to support checkout initiatives and other product experiences to support PayPal\'s product roadmap and priorities. Essential Responsibilities
Establish overall business or technical strategy, aligning legal initiatives with corporate goals and objectives. Influence decision-making at the executive level, providing strategic legal advice on key business decisions and transactions. Provide strategic legal advice and support, particularly in high-demand areas such as mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, overseeing the implementation of advanced legal technologies and compliance programs. Manage legal risks and safeguard PayPal\'s legal interests, developing and executing risk management strategies. Represent PayPal in litigation and other legal proceedings, managing high-profile cases and collaborating with senior leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience and a Juris Doctorate or equivalent degree.
Additional Responsibilities and Preferred Qualifications
Juris Doctor from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association Admitted to, and in good standing with, the state bar 10+ years of legal experience preferably with an in-house position advising on consumer product legal matters. 2+ years of experience advising product professionals in the consumer financial services/fintech space Expertise in risk management, compliance, and regulatory frameworks as they relate to consumers using our shopping and checkout products Skilled at identifying issues, providing risk-based recommendations, and contributing to strategic business conversations in a fast-paced environment Experience navigating complex legal issues around consumer protection, payments, digital wallets and agentic commerce Extensive knowledge of regulations and industry guidelines applicable to checkout and fintech, including federal and state UDAAP standards, state money transmission laws, FTC and CFPB guidelines, TCPA, Reg. E, GLBA, BSA, and CAN-SPAM Experience building cross-functional relationships and communication styles that resonate with business teams to launch products responsibly Demonstrated strong sense of ownership and ability to demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations
