About The Opportunity The Shipping/Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in managing incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares products to be shipped in a timely manner in our warehouse. In order to be successful in this role, you'll need effective communication skills and a high level of attention to detail. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Demonstrate commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures. Unload/load rolls with a roll clamp truck. Load/unload trucks using forklifts. Stage loads on the floor and get them ready to ship. Coordinate the transfer of materials between plants and schedule inbound/outbound shipments Receive product destined for warehouse and perform SAP transactions. Become familiar with customer packaging requirements. Maintain dock area to ensure that is safe and clean at all times. Rearrange staging areas for open space when needed. Band and wrap shipments and weigh shipments; match product with paperwork to check for errors. Participate in scheduled weekend overtime and be on call when scheduled. Call in carriers for shipments; maintain and follow Menasha Freight Guidelines and select the right carrier for LTL and truckload shipments. Process Bill of Ladings in SAP. Provide backup to Receiving when needed. Place loads in warehouse racking with forklift and reach truck Perform cycle counts and physical inventories. Perform weekly clean up duties in the department. Pick product from warehouse to prepare for shipment Understand department communication systems schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent desired.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner. Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business. Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed. Ability to effectively work in teams. Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles. Must have computer skills in Microsoft Office and understanding of an ERP system. General knowledge of SAP shipping functions, stock overview, and good movements. Experience in operating roll clamps, forklifts and reach trucks. The primary piece of equipment for this position is the roll clamp.
