The Business Data Scientist is responsible for creating models, generating insights, and developing advanced analytical models using machine learning and AI tools. This role will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver technical solutions that drive business value independently. The ability to collaborate with others, develop solutions to sophisticated problems that anticipate the needs of customers, improve performance and efficiency are keys to success!

Business Data Scientist III Responsibilities/Expectations:

Develops, implements, and provides production support of business intelligence reporting and sophisticated analytical model development

Develops architecture, data availability, and data model support

Creates scalable, efficient, and automated processes for large scale data analyses for model development, validation, and implementation

Organize user interfaces and data visualization tools to make data analyses more effective and accessible

Trains users to transform data into action-oriented information and to use that information to make critical business decisions

Explores available data and discover patterns, anomalies and trends

Develops descriptive, predictive and/or prescriptive statistical models to address business problems

Works with large data sets in a hybrid cloud, using machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) methods to help define requirements and set expectations

Other duties as assigned

Education/Years of Experience:

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Construction Science, Business and three (3) years' of related experience supporting database development and data analytics; and/or natural gas industry experience

Preferred: Master's Degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Information Technology and five (5) years' work experience in data science and/or business intelligence developer and/or natural gas fundamentals modeling

Other Requirements:

Demonstrates outstanding organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications

Basic knowledge of databases (SQL, Oracle, Cube) and multi-dimensional database structures

Experience with business intelligence tools, reports and dashboards

Preferred: Azure analytics platform proficiency (e.g., synapse, data bricks, data factory)

Preferred: Experience in project management, engineering, project controls or construction process and sequence

Preferred: General understanding of pipelines, compression, and processing
