The Gainesville, FL Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center and the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Florida (UF) are searching for a full-time BC/BE Noninvasive Cardiologist. This faculty position is a dual appointment with UF and primarily based at the VA.

Our facility is a 240-bed tertiary referral center for cardiovascular disease within the VA system and offers a full spectrum of cardiovascular care including on-site Cardiothoracic (CT) surgery, complex interventional and structural procedures, Electrophysiology (EP) devices and ablations, and advanced imaging with 3D Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE), Positron Emission Tomography (PET)-based perfusion, Cardiac Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). You will contribute to the interpretation of Electrocardiogram (ECG), exercise and pharmacologic stress tests, transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, and ambulatory cardiac monitors. As part of the Cardiology service, you will supervise and teach general cardiology fellows, advanced practice providers and medical residents. The current VA physician staff consists of 3 interventionalists, 3 electrophysiologists, 6 noninvasive and 1 heart failure specialist. There are currently 10 Advance Practice Professionals. VA Coronary Care Unit and general consult service assignments with night and weekend call are shared among all VA cardiology faculty. You are expected to manage patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Candidates are encouraged to participate in advanced cardiac imaging interpretations and engage in clinical trials and other research activities depending on interest. Involvement in the UF practice is negotiable. An interest in working with the VA heart failure disease management group is preferred.
