The Senior Application Developer designs and implements technology solutions for using cloud-based and Microsoft technologies. This role involves writing high-quality code for complex business applications, conducting development and quality assurance testing, supporting user acceptance testing, preparing software for deployment, and providing post-implementation support. Additionally, the developer will create and maintain thorough application documentation.
The Senior Application Developer will: Utilize modern tools and technologies, including .NET, .NET Core, C#, Agile methodologies, Web Services, SQL, and SSIS. Possess deep expertise in front-end development, including JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and functional programming concepts. Prepare, configure, and deploy software to production environments, ensuring stability and reliability.
Investigate and resolve issues reported by users in live systems, delivering timely support and solutions.
Lead small-scale projects independently and collaborate effectively on larger, cross-functional initiatives.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support team and organizational objectives.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on experience in software development or related fields.
Over 7 years of relevant professional experience in application development or engineering.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Extreme Programming (XP) is beneficial.
Proficient in working with relational databases, including SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
Strong understanding of software design patterns, code refactoring, and unit testing best practices.
Experience with Linux environments and open-source tools is a plus.
Preferred experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, SQS, SNS, Lambda, Containers, and API Gateway.
Background in financial services, particularly in mortgages and mortgage-backed securities, is a strong asset.
Experience with AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot or similar, is highly desirable.
