Position Overview:
The Shipping and Receiving Technician is responsible for the accurate handling, documentation, and movement of all incoming and outgoing aircraft parts, materials, and supplies in accordance with FAA, DOT, and company requirements. This position plays a critical role in supporting ETP Thermal Dynamics’ aviation repair station operations by ensuring material traceability, proper storage, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive all incoming shipments of aircraft parts, materials, tooling, and supplies.
Verify incoming documentation for accuracy, including Certificates of Conformance (C of C), FAA 8130-3 Tags, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and other regulatory documents.
Inspect incoming parts for packaging integrity, damage, expiration dates, and proper traceability.
Accurately log all receiving transactions into the company’s ERP/inventory management system, Quantum. Maintain shipping/receiving records.
Prepare and package outbound shipments, ensuring compliance with FAA, DOT, IATA, and hazardous materials regulations when applicable.
Ensure all outbound materials and components maintain proper airworthiness traceability and documentation(s) (e.g., FAA 8130-3, C of C, customs invoice, clearance paperwork or teardown reports).
Store and organize materials in designated areas, ensuring compliance with environmental and shelf-life requirements. Maintain quarantined materials.
Support cycle counts, physical inventory, and reconciliation of stock discrepancies.
Communicate with purchasing, quality, and production teams regarding material shortages, discrepancies, or urgent needs.
Support customer service changes or communications.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely in compliance with OSHA safety standards.
Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes and company policies related to shipping, receiving, and material handling.
Uphold all company safety policies, Quality Control measures and FAA regulations in daily tasks.
Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED required.
· 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations (aviation/MRO environment strongly ).
· Working knowledge of FAA, DOT, IATA, and OSHA shipping/receiving regulations.
· Familiarity with aviation traceability requirements, including 8130-3, C of C, and other airworthiness documentation. (; not required)
· Experience with ERP or inventory control systems.
· Forklift certification, knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a warehouse/industrial environment.
Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills; attention to detail.
Ability to operate material handling equipment (foam machine, packing supplies, forklift certification ).
