We are looking for a Vice President, Corporate Controller, to join our world‑class finance team leading AMD’s global accounting, controllership, payroll, financial systems and financial reporting functions. The CAO ensures the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, while scaling processes to support AMD’s rapid growth in AI. This leader will be the company’s primary steward of financial governance and technical accounting, overseeing both day‑to‑day operations and initiatives in automation, process improvement and continuous transformation of the finance organization. We are looking for an experienced leader with high integrity and strong technical accounting skills, financial acumen coupled with a proven track record to drive automation and process improvement. This leader will work cross‑functionally with various individuals and teams throughout the Company. The ability to thrive in a fast‑paced dynamic global environment is essential.
Primary Responsibilities:
Global company‑wide financial close including consolidation and preparation of financial statements
Ensure timely and accurate global statutory reporting
Serve as the primary liaison to external auditors and the Audit and Finance Committee
Timely and accurate preparation, review and filing of the Company’s SEC reports
Internal controls and compliance including program management of Company’s Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) program
Drive automation and process simplification across accounting, reporting and close processes, leveraging AI, robotics and advanced analytics
Partner with Investor Relations and the Company’s senior executives to prepare and release the quarterly earnings
Partner with CFO, business and functional leaders to support strategic projects
Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing global controllership team, champion a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, embedding automation and innovation into controllership operations. Recruit, hire, manage, motivate, develop and retain team
Qualifications and Skills:
Currently leading Accounting in a global, publicly traded company
Demonstrated successful progression with a combination of Big 4 Accounting firm and large global, multi‑site, public company
Strong US GAAP knowledge and experience
Leadership capability and direct people management experience
Detail oriented in execution of work and in review of others
Strong background in technical and complex accounting
Robust analytical skills and ability to turn complex data and concepts into valuable information to present in a simple/understandable manner
Demonstrated success in implementing automation, process transformation and technology‑driven improvements
Ability to lead, motivate and influence others at various levels without direct reporting relationships and guide outcomes
Thrive in a fast‑paced dynamic global environment
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
MBA
CPA
