My client is actively seeking a

Technical Lead

to support their growing IT ecosystem based out of Lake Forest, IL This opportunity is 5 days onsite in Lake Forest, IL Position Summary The Technical Lead will lead daily IT operations for a rapidly growing, highly regulated biotechnology company. This role combines hands-on technical management with oversight of vendor performance, budget accountability, and compliance with GxP and other regulatory requirements. Partnering closely with cross-functional teams in R&D, Quality, Clinical, and Commercial, the IT Manager will ensure secure, compliant, and reliable systems that enable the companys scientific and operational goals. Key Responsibilities IT Operations & Leadership Lead day-to-day IT activities, providing guidance to internal staff and external partners. Manage ITIL-aligned ticket queues, ensuring timely resolution and a high level of customer service. Maintain and govern the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and asset inventory for hardware, software, and cloud resources. Systems Administration & Infrastructure Oversee administration of enterprise platforms Ensure secure identity and access management (SSO, MFA) and endpoint protection. Plan and coordinate system upgrades, integrations, and technology lifecycle management in line with industry standard CSV (computer systems validation) practices. Regulatory Compliance & Validation Own GxP compliance for computerized systems, including Computer System Validation (CSV) per 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11. Maintain change control, CAPA processes, periodic system reviews, and audit readiness. Partner with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure systems meet industry and regulatory standards. Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Coordinate vulnerability assessments, phishing simulations, and incident-response plans with the MSP and Security Operations Center (SOC). Align controls with NIST CSF, ISO 27001, GDPR, and HIPAA requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as the face of IT across the organization, translating technical concepts into business impact. Partner with R&D, Quality, Clinical, and Commercial leaders to support evolving business needs. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 2 years in a GxP life sciences environment. Proven experience managing vendors, MSPs, and technology budgets. Strong understanding of GxP compliance, CSV, and FDA audit processes. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration, endpoint security, and basic networking. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
