Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

to join its leadership team. The CFO will play a critical role in ensuring the school’s long-term financial sustainability and operational excellence.

As a key advisor to the Head of School and Board of Trustees, the CFO will oversee all aspects of Seacrest’s financial strategy, accounting, budgeting, business operation, and campus facilities. This leader must bring strong financial acumen, sound judgment, and a commitment to timely, goal-oriented execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead all financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring alignment and accuracy with Seacrest’s strategic priorities.

Oversee the business office, with a current team of three employees.

Manage expense controls and cash liquidity, drive operational efficiencies, and maintain internal financial systems.

Oversee accounting, financial reporting, and forecasting, including cash management, audit preparation, and related compliance work.

Maintain rigorous financial controls and oversee capital projects from a budgeting and execution standpoint.

Develop and present clear and accurate financial reports and analysis to the Head of School, Board, and Finance Committee.

Partner with enrollment, advancement, and academic leadership to model tuition strategy, financial aid, and long-range planning.

Supervise grounds, facilities, and capital projects across our 40-acre campus while ensuring the campus remains safe, functional, and aligned with Seacrest’s vision.

Build and lead a high performing finance and operations team with a focus on accountability, service, and stewardship.

Serve as a strategic thought partner on initiatives including capital campaigns, campus improvements and investments.

Independent School experience and knowledge preferred.

Common Qualification Requirements:

Proven experience in financial leadership, ideally in an independent school or mission-driven organization.

At least ten years of experience in accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, and business operations.

Experience in compliance oversight, audit preparation and internal controls.

Strong understanding of financial reporting, forecasting, and long-range planning.

Knowledge of facilities management, capital planning, and campus operations.

Strategic thinker who can translate financial concepts into actionable insights or non-financial audiences.

Transparent, ethical, and collaborative leadership style.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required; CPA, MBA or equivalent advanced degrees preferred.
