LA28 is a non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We are on a mission to create an Olympic and Paralympic Games experience that celebrates the city and its people for athletes, fans, partners and the community. The 2028 Games mark the return of the Summer Games to the U.S. and Los Angeles’ third time hosting the Games. Position
Manager, Events & Engagement
Reporting to the Vice President of Events & Engagement, the Manager collaborates with multiple internal departments and external stakeholders in planning and onsite execution of each functional area’s meetings, conferences, events and deliverables required of LA28, USOPP and Team USA Partners. The LA28 Events and Engagement team works cross-functionally to ensure meeting and event logistics needs are met, from venue selection to vendor contracting and onsite production. The team aims to deliver event solutions with inclusive design, sustainability measures and economic impact, prioritizing engagement of local, small and diverse vendors where possible. Examples of events include the annual USOPP partner summit, LA28 hotel summit, external stakeholder conferences and briefings, LA28 board meetings, all-staff meetings, IOC/IPC visits, meetings and more.
Key Responsibilities
General ownership of planning, production and onsite logistics for assigned domestic and international meetings, receptions, conferences, dinners, marketing activations and Games-time events. Elements may include registration, travel, accommodations, F&B, rentals, A/V, gifting, transportation, excursions, entertainment, security, staffing, inclusive design, sustainability and vendor relations. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to execute their event/meeting needs. When applicable, support external, public fan engagement events; primary focus is internal department support for meetings, events and hospitality. Provide logistics and protocol support for all official visits to Los Angeles by IOC/IPC representatives, international federations, national organizing committees and other Olympic/Paralympic stakeholders. Create and manage event registrations and RSVPs using existing platforms and tools. Develop and manage comprehensive event budgets and facilitate timely payments of expenses, deposits and post-event billing in coordination with the Team Associate. Coordinate with Consumer Products team for timely ordering of branded licensee products and gifting elements. Manage branding elements and content production with Brand Design and print/fabrication vendors for merchandise, registration materials, signage and digital branding needs. Oversee event materials inventory (signage, branding, tents, tables, equipment, etc.) used across multiple functions. Collaborate with the Team Associate to create post-event debriefs and wrap-up reports/decks with analyses, learnings and results. Onsite vendor management and hands-on load-in/load-out of all event elements, including physical labor and a proactive, solution-oriented approach. Other related duties as directed to ensure successful event delivery.
Background & Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of experience in events or hospitality. Strong organizational skills with experience managing administrative processes for multiple high-profile events. Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude; supervises physical event prep, load-in, setup and load-out for indoor/outdoor events and tours. Service-oriented with excellent organizational and communication abilities. Creativity, flexibility and strong problem-solving skills in dynamic environments. Excellent written and verbal communication; meticulous attention to detail; ability to multi-task in fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven settings. Computer literacy with strong data entry, proofreading and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). Understanding of registration processes and procedures.
Position Requirements
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions On-site work in Los Angeles, CA. Ability to lift and transport event materials up to 50 lbs. Prolonged standing, walking and outdoor work during event setup, execution and breakdown. Comfort working in diverse environments, including indoor venues and large-scale events. Domestic and international travel as needed. Ability to drive a cargo van for event equipment transfers. Flexible schedule including some weekends and evenings during high-volume event dates. Ability to navigate large event spaces, including long walks and stairs or uneven terrain.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Expectations
Familiarity with programs/platforms such as Agiloft, Smartsheet, EventSpark, Workday, Photoshop, CAD, Canva, Prism or similar. Strong PowerPoint deck-building and/or design skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with inclusive/accessible event design and sustainability efforts.

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000.00 - $115,000.00. Compensation remains subject to final determination based on qualifications, experience and applicable law.
