POSITION DESCRIPTION Our next Landscape Architect or Senior Landscape Architect will elevate our studio’s garden designs and client services. We are seeking a highly talented, experienced, and motivated team player who thrives on collaborative placemaking. Candidates should excel in project management, budget management, creative problem‑solving, and effective communication, both written and verbal. They must have a comprehensive understanding of the design process and ensure projects stay on time and budget. This position requires managing multiple projects simultaneously, typically between 10 and 15, while tracking time, allocating resources, and overseeing project support staff. A strong background in planting design and horticulture is essential, with the ability to create thoughtful, contextually appropriate plant palettes and steward gardens that thrive over time. Proficiency in construction administration and specifications is essential, as is the ability to handle diverse responsibilities throughout all project phases. Strong communication skills are crucial for conveying complex plans to clients, contractors, and colleagues. Additionally, candidates should bring a unique knowledge base and a passion for building systems and efficiencies to enhance work quality.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture

Licensed to practice Landscape Architecture

8+ years of employment history in a landscape architecture studio environment

Minimum of 4 years of residential project management experience, handling multiple projects (10+) at any given time.

Experience managing project budgets, timelines, and resources, including time tracking, task assignment, and oversight of project support staff

Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Vectorworks (preferred) or AutoCAD

Strong hand graphic skills (experience drawing on iPad is a plus)

Expertise in planting design and use of plant material in the Mid‑Atlantic region

US residency or citizenship

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Visiting project sites to perform site inventory and analysis

Creating schematic design presentation books for our clients

Applying horticultural knowledge to design and select successful planting plans

Preparing graphic and written presentations

Creating 3D and perspective renderings

Coordinating pricing and overseeing construction of projects

Overseeing support staff’s time and assignments to ensure projects stay on budget and schedule

Supporting ongoing invoicing process

Managing and mentoring design staff

Sourcing and ordering plants for our projects

Communicating and building partnerships with architects, contractors, and allied professionals

Bolstering FORM’s presence by collecting relevant content for social media and participating in external engagements

Building connections to attract clients and support company’s revenue goals
