SUMMARY Weekend RN Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating nursing staff activities during weekend shifts, ensuring that nursing care is delivered efficiently and in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. The role focuses on supervising nurses and nursing assistants, supporting their work, and maintaining high standards of care and safety. Collaboration with the Director of Nursing ensures smooth operations and quality care delivery throughout the weekend.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct the day‑to‑day functions of nursing assistants; lead planning of shift services, programs, and activities.

Provide written and oral reports concerning shift activities; admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.

Complete and file required recordkeeping forms/charts upon resident admission, transfer, and discharge; transcribe telephone orders from physicians; chart nurse’s notes accurately and descriptively.

Fill out accident/incident reports and submit to the Director as needed; follow established charting and documentation policies.

Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.

Develop and maintain good rapport with inter‑departmental personnel and other departments to meet resident needs.

Provide professional services such as catheterization, tube feedings, suction, dressing changes, colostomy care, blood draws, massages, and range‑of‑motion exercises.

Monitor personnel to ensure adherence to safety regulations regarding equipment and supplies.

Maintain confidentiality of resident care information, including PHI; report any unauthorized disclosures and ensure privacy during care.

Provide IV and IV site care as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Registered Nurse with a current, unencumbered state license.

Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.

Capable of making independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices, regulations, and guidelines applicable to nursing care facilities.

Current CPR certification required.

Experience in long‑term care is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.

Capable of coping with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

Meet general health requirements set forth by the facility's policies, including a medical and physical examination.

Be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and to a maximum distance of 50 feet.

Assistance may be required during evacuation of residents in emergency situations.
