Develop designs, layouts, construction drawings, and a bill of materials for large projects and complex systems involving installation/removal/modification of utility infrastructure on Exelon’s electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas and telecommunication facilities. Performs field engineering and provides designs for internal and external customers. May coordinate, track and monitor electrical requirements of New Business projects to meet customer need dates. Interprets and applies engineering standards and memos. Position may require extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or energy delivery emergencies. Responsibilities

Develop designs, layouts, construction drawings, and a bill of materials for large projects and complex systems involving installation/removal/modification of utility infrastructure on Exelon’s electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas and telecommunication facilities/systems. Includes activities with customer contact, scheduling, engineering and construction of New Business installations, removals and relocations. (80%) Interpret and apply engineering standards and memos. (10%) Assist with technical consultation, plan developments and recommendations for customer and company systems and processes; verify and validate studies, blueprints, or designs against accepted engineering principles and practices. (5%) Evaluate effectiveness of current design processes. Participate on teams (e.g., design high voltage transmission and distribution circuits, meeting all engineering standards and criteria). (5%) Job scope

Develop construction drawings and material requirements for complex systems and large projects related to utility infrastructure installation, removal or modification. Works independently under the direction of a lead engineer. Provide technical assistance to engineering design technicians and associate engineering design technicians. Respond to customer needs for service by evaluating standard versus required facilities to develop charges with financial and operational impact. Responsible for financial requirements associated with projects that support the Asset Investment Committee (AIC) / Project Review Committee (PRC) process. Apply technical knowledge to promote a safe work environment and enhance customer satisfaction. Minimum qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 3+ years of technical experience, or an associate’s degree in a technical field with 5+ years of experience, or 7+ years of technical experience or relevant education if non-degreed/non-technical. Successful completion of the Technician Occupations Selection Systems (TECH) test. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university exempts the TECH Test requirement. Ability to analyze and interpret electrical and mechanical systems. Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge and ability to apply problem-solving approaches. Knowledge of construction, operations or engineering principles and practices. Broad knowledge of regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices for routine discipline installations or service. Proficient Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills. Valid driver’s license. Preferred qualifications

Relevant education/experience includes military roles (transmission, distribution, gas, power systems), project management, journey-level electrician or gas technician, field operations, or other utility-related experience. Relevant educational experience includes company-sponsored training programs (e.g., PowerUp Academy) or similar programs. Equivalent relevant education/experience may be in addition to minimum requirements. Benefits
