Job Summary Working under the direction of licensed personnel, the role assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. The assistant also measures vital signs including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. The position is a Patient Care Associate (PCA).
Patient Care Required: Yes
Essential Functions
Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frames.
Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks, such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
Assists with turning and repositioning patients in bed and helps them move between beds and wheelchairs.
Listens for any health concerns patients may have and reports those concerns to the nurses.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
Licenses and Credentials
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (preferred)
Certified Medical Assistant (National Certification) (preferred)
Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (Massachusetts) (preferred)
Nursing Assistant (LNA - New Hampshire) (preferred)
Experience
1–2 years of experience working in patient care or elder care (preferred)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Strong patient/customer service skills.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
Proficient computer skills to work efficiently with electronic medical records.

Pay Range: $18.22 – $26.06 per hour
Sign-On Bonus: $750.00 (eligible for new employees in PCA positions)
