The Senior Finance Manager at The Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel will assist in managing the day‑to‑day operations of the Finance Office. Primary responsibilities include financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit and control, asset and liability reconciliation, working capital, and cash control.

Responsibilities

Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others.

Advocate sound financial and business decision making.

Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes.

Maintain regular communication with team members to create awareness of business objectives, communicate expectations, and recognize performance.

Participate in performance appraisals, providing constructive feedback.

Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently.

Generate accurate and timely reports and presentations.

Analyze information, evaluate results, and choose the best solution to solve problems.

Compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, and verify information or data.

Ensure the P&L is accurate and financial statements are delivered correctly.

Reconcile balance sheet accounts.

Ensure tax rates are current and amounts are collected and accrued appropriately.

Ensure compliance with standard and local operating procedures (SOPs and LSOPs).

Ensure account balances are supported by appropriate documentation in accordance with SOPs.

Review audit issues and correct them as necessary.

Ensure property permits, licenses, and vendor contracts are current.

Leverage centralized accounting processes and shared services.

Determine compliance with laws, regulations, and standards based on relevant information and judgment.

Leverage technology and information systems to generate financial reports and provide analytical support.

Inform and update the team on relevant financial information in a timely manner.

Advise the Corporate Director of Finance on existing and evolving financial issues.

Communicate financial concepts clearly and persuasively.

Provide direction and assistance to other units regarding finance and budgeting policies, efficient control, and resource utilization.

Submit reports on time, ensuring delivery deadlines are met.

Document profits and losses accurately.

Achieve and exceed performance, budget, and team goals.

Support a strong finance and operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations, and manage business risks.

Requirements

4‑year bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related major.

Minimum of two years of finance experience in a full‑service hotel.

Knowledge of business law, taxes, and Department of Labor regulations.

Sound analytical and decision‑making skills.

Leadership and organizational skills (team orientation, flexibility, adaptability).

Proficiency in computers and basic understanding of complex computerized financial systems.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Excellent time management.

Ability to multi‑task and work in a fast‑paced environment.

Experience with payroll processing.

Self‑motivation and a can‑do attitude.
