Position Summary At Fusion Academy, every class is one-to-one: one student and one teacher. This enables our educators to focus on what matters most: building meaningful relationships that foster both academic growth and personal development. We are seeking a Humanities Teacher to join our collaborative team of life‑long learners who believe that connection is the cornerstone of education.

Pay Rate $28.25 per hour USD

Responsibilities

Provide a student-centered, supportive classroom that fosters compassion, tolerance, emotional security, resourcefulness, and independent critical thinking.

Address the individual academic and emotional needs of each student through Fusion's differentiated approach.

Teach middle and high school students one-to-one in English Composition, Literature, Language Arts, World and U.S. History, Government, and Economics at grades 6-12.

Listen to students, peers, and managers to develop and support meaningful learning journeys.

Adapt differentiated instruction for all students and create a classroom forum for holistic growth.

Fuse academic and social‑emotional objectives into engaging lessons.

Foster trust with students, peers, and the campus leadership team.

Mentor students to be lifelong learners and leaders.

Develop and nurture genuine, positive, and consistent parent-teacher communication.

Contribute to and benefit from the campus community.

Practice professionalism through ongoing professional development, reflection, and continuous improvement.

Maintain complete and accurate records of student progress.

Create a schedule that works best for you and your students.

Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, with background in English and History.

Collaborative and exploratory approach to learning.

Passion for English and History and a drive to share it with others.

Capacity to try innovative approaches to help students learn.

Heart filled with compassion, tolerance, and patience.

Flexible schedule to accommodate student schedules.

Disciplined approach to time management.

Ability to manage stressful moments through self-regulation and maintaining a positive outlook.

Propensity to reserve judgment and respond with curiosity and compassion.

Willingness to be trained and prepared to teach and tutor material at a high school level immediately.

Great to Have But Not Required

Teaching certification.

Previous teaching or relevant tutor experience.

Experience with students with learning differences and ADHD, as well as mentoring experience.
