Under general supervision, perform environmental engineering work in planning, coordinating and overseeing the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of environmental engineered remedies for contaminated or remediated project sites, including former municipal landfills and manufactured gas plant properties. Oversee the development and management of contracts and work orders related to the environmental components of various capital projects. Prepare detailed reports on the progress and budget schedules of environmental projects, including those mandated by regulatory agencies for former landfill sites and sites subject to state or federal consent orders. Engage in or supervise the conduct of complex research, investigations, studies and examinations related to the environmental engineering functions or activities of the Agency. Approve or supervise the design, inspection, construction, demolition and/or alteration of premises, installations and equipment to ensure compliance with contracts, drawings, specifications, codes, resolutions, statutes, rules and regulations. Assist Agency staff in preparation and review of environmental permits. Supervise the installation, inspection and testing operations at job sites, as well as contractor activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory Agency permits, regulations or programs including Spills, Brownfield Cleanup, Environmental Restoration, Storm Water and Materials. Minimum Qualifications

A baccalaureate degree in environmental, chemical, mechanical, petroleum, aeronautical, or materials engineering from an accredited college or university and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in environmental engineering work; or A baccalaureate degree in environmental, chemical, mechanical, petroleum, aeronautical, or materials engineering from an accredited college and a master’s degree in environmental engineering from an accredited college. A master’s degree in environmental engineering from an accredited college can only be used to substitute for one year of full-time satisfactory work experience in environmental engineering. Preferred Skills

Ability to produce cut and fill calculations, measured drawings and technical specifications for remediation systems. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficiency with AutoCAD. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PhotoShop and rendering. Demonstrated experience with soil and storm water management to remediate Spill, Brownfield Cleanup and/or land‑fill project sites. Familiarity with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation environmental regulations and New York City’s related policies and practices. Professional Engineer license in Environmental Engineering is a plus. A valid driver license in New York State. 55‑a Program
