Department of State Hospitals - Napa Job Description and Duties
The Department of State Hospitals-Napa currently has an opening for a Maintenance Mechanic in the Plant Operations Department. The Maintenance Mechanic operates heavy equipment such as backhoes, mini excavators, bull dozers, and equipment to assist trades in underground repairs and maintenance. The position also assists in various construction and maintenance projects including but not limited to cutting fire trails, mowing and disking weeds, hauling and/or moving materials, and building/maintaining levees and unimproved areas. The Maintenance Mechanic performs work generated by work orders on building equipment and systems such as minor building construction and repair work, estimates and requisitions materials and supplies, keeps tools and equipment in good condition, and works alongside other Plant Operations trades in the completion of special projects, performing minor building construction, modification, and/or fabrication of parts that are no longer available from manufacturers.
