The role is to join the Protective Relay Settings Team as a Power System Protection Engineer with a preferred 8-10 years of experience. Responsibilities

Function as a technical subject matter expert and specialist. Develop protective setpoints per industry standards, best practices and client requirements. Work with system modeling software programs (ASPEN, CAPE, CYME, ETAP, SKM). Develop downloadable setpoint files on multiple proprietary relay manufacturer software platforms (SEL AcSELerator Quickset, GE Enervista, etc.). Develop and manipulate logic commonly utilized in protection and control schemes. Continues developing knowledge and may provide guidance and direction on design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies. Provide technical guidance to others on projects and disciplines. Independently apply knowledge and comply with B&V quality program relative to assigned tasks. Ensure compliance with B&V quality program and support continuous improvement and change management efforts. Prepare complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects; perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection; oversee data collection and management; prepare complex calculations; manage budgets, schedules, and quality requirements; delegate tasks to develop depth of project execution; review work; lead production teams or coordinate multiple discipline activity as needed. Coordinate with internal/external team members on moderately complex projects. Identify key client interests and drivers on low to moderately complex projects; communicate these to the project team and develop approaches to address them; support business development activities as appropriate. Provide mentoring and knowledge management; may develop and apply advanced engineering concepts to unique problems; participate in career planning and development activities; mentor lower level professionals. Assist with resource management for small groups of a single discipline. Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

8-10 years of experience in Transmission, Distribution, or Power Generation. Experience with Protection & Control design concepts including one-lines, three-lines, schematics, wiring, etc. 8 years of experience in development of protective relay settings. Significant experience with system modeling software (ASPEN, CAPE, CYME, ETAP, SKM, etc.). Knowledge of protection schemes and philosophies in Transmission, Distribution, and Renewable Substations. Experience with Mathcad and Excel for protective setting calculations. Experience with communication protocols (DNP, SEL, MMS, Modbus, etc.). Knowledge of IEC 61850 (GOOSE, MMS, SV) and its implementation. Knowledge and application of NERC-PRC standards and other industry standards. Proven ability to write and communicate technically; collaborate with clients and team members. Proven ability to lead small projects including schedules, budgets, and staffing. Experience supporting proposal development, including scope, level of work, estimates, and schedule. Strong leadership and mentoring skills for developing junior professionals. Experience functioning in a QC/QA capacity. Active Professional Engineer (PE) License in state of residence or project needs. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited program. Minimum of 5 years related work experience. Certifications

Professional Engineer License (U.S. PE), preferred Work Environment/Physical Demands
