This position combines registration duties with scheduling responsibilities to ensure a streamlined patient experience. The representative will greet patients, collect demographic and insurance information, and schedule appointments, serving as a key liaison between patients, clinical teams, and administrative staff to facilitate timely access to care.
Responsibilities
Greet patients promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression.
Answer inbound calls promptly, document relevant details, and ensure accurate communication of information to the appropriate team.
Accurately gather and input patient demographics, insurance information, and other required data into the system.
Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage; obtain pre‑authorizations and pre‑certifications prior to services rendered.
Obtain necessary signatures, consent forms, and documentation from patients.
Receive physician orders, seek clarification if needed, and coordinate case times for treatments or diagnostic procedures in a computerized scheduling system.
Verify and review physician privilege status before scheduling.
Calculate, collect, and process co‑pays, payments, or outstanding balances as needed.
Address patient inquiries regarding registration, insurance, or billing processes.
Collaborate with clinical staff and/or business office to ensure seamless patient flow and accurate data sharing.
Monitor and retrieve voicemails regularly, ensuring messages are reviewed and routed to the appropriate team for timely follow up and resolution.
Sort and organize incoming documents in RightFax, ensuring they are accurately categorized and routed to the appropriate team or department.
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Requires skills normally acquired over two (2) or more years of related work experience.
Excellent customer service skills and knowledge, normally acquired with one (1) or more years of related work experience.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and work independently.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of audiences.
Strong knowledge in the use of common office software (word processing, spreadsheet, and database software).
Preferred Qualifications
Medical terminology experience.
Additional related education and/or experience.
Pay & Benefits
Compensation: $20.00 to $26.75 hourly wage based on experience and education.
Additional Pay: Shift Differential, Annual Increases, Paid Time Off.
