Lab Manager, Petroleum - On Site Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is actively seeking a Lab Manager, Petroleum to join our Caleb Brett team, on site, at our Essington facility. Job Description Intertek Caleb Brett provides specialized cargo inspection and analytical assessment services to the oil and gas, chemical, and other commodities markets, with a global network of laboratories, 24/7 availability, and over 130 years of exceptional customer service. Our purpose is bringing quality, safety, and sustainability to life.
What you’ll Do
Oversee Quality Management, Health, Safety, Environmental Compliance, Legal and Ethical Compliance, and Training.
Render to clients an accurate, rapid, and efficient testing service of indisputable integrity.
Ensure adequate equipment and staff are available for all jobs.
Collaborate with the Branch Manager, manage laboratory employee performance, and maintain an effective work group.
Seek new business and serve as a positive representative to clients.
Ensure the laboratory contributes to a fair and reasonable profit for the branch.
Shift/Schedule 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CDT, Monday through Friday

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong leadership skills.
Ability to lead and motivate employees to support laboratory objectives.
Organized with time management skills.
Experience handling chemical and petroleum products.
Protocol, procedure, and safety oriented.
Understanding of the significance of data generated by test methods.
Valid driver’s license with reliable driving record required.
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of relevant experience in the petroleum industry.
Degree in Chemistry preferred.
