Overview

Manufacturing Engineer I / II - Propulsion – Based in Long Beach, CA. Responsible for overseeing the introduction and implementation of new products and revisions related to Rutherford and Archimedes engines. Support the Director of Manufacturing Engineering and Production, delivering required materials for internal leadership, board of directors, and investors. What you’ll get to do

Contribute to design reviews as an expert in design for manufacture, design for test, productivity, supplier capability assessments, quality control, etc. Perform Value Stream Mapping exercises, Method of Manufacture plans, and cell design. Implement factory layouts, equipment selection, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and production commissioning. Develop production processes and ensure documentation (testing procedures, health and safety requirements, supervisor signoffs) is clear and current. Interface with the quality team to resolve manufacturing engineering quality responsibilities, lead containment and root cause & corrective action investigations when required. Design, develop, and implement tooling and equipment to improve quality, delivery and/or cost in production. Lead continuous improvement using lean tools (e.g., 5S) and introduce automation where appropriate with data links to MRP and quality systems. Qualifications

Manufacturing Engineer I – Propulsion: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace, or similar engineering discipline. Understanding of fluid and structural mechanics fundamentals. Knowledge of manufacturing processes for aerospace materials. Manufacturing Engineer II – Propulsion: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace, or similar engineering discipline. 2+ years of professional engineering experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. Understanding of fluid and structural mechanics fundamentals. Knowledge of manufacturing processes for aerospace materials. Nice to have Advanced engineering degree (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace). Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes for fluid components. Experience with assembly & testing of turbomachinery and combustion devices. Experience designing, implementing, and supporting a production line/build area. Experience with manufacturing processes such as TIG, EB, laser welding, heat treating, metal forming, additive manufacturing, CNC machining, and precision cleaning. Experience transitioning products from design to production in a fast-paced, iterative environment. Experience with PFMEA/DFMEA and root cause/corrective action projects. Additional requirements

Vision: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception. Regularly sit, use hands, operate computer and communicate verbally/written. Must be able to commute to buildings; occasional exposure to dust, fumes, and noise. Availability to work long hours and weekends as needed based on test/launch schedules. Compensation

Base Pay Range (CA Only): $80,000 - $125,000 USD What to expect
