Purpose Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Community and Belonging, this position provides leadership and direction for the Office of Discrimination, Harassment & Retaliation Prevention and Title IX Administration. The Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and coordinating campus responses to students, faculty, staff, and visitors experiencing distress, ensuring compliance with Title IX, the Violence Against Women Act, and CSU policy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as the University’s Title IX Coordinator and DHR Prevention Administrator, overseeing investigations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and sexual violence; provide interim steps, develop educational materials, assess campus events, prepare statistical reports, and monitor compliance.
Conduct fact‑finding investigations, interview complainants, respondents, and witnesses; assess credibility, draw conclusions, prepare reports, and recommend actions.
Coordinate with campus offices—Human Resources, Student Conduct, Campus Police, Academic Affairs—to facilitate conflict resolution and investigation processes.
Develop, give, and assess educational and outreach programming on sexual violence, harassment, domestic violence, stalking, and retaliation; present programs and ensure compliance with AB 1825 and the California Whistleblower Act.
Manage office staff—hire, train, evaluate—and develop the office’s annual strategic plan and budget.
Stay current with system‑wide policy changes and federal/state regulatory updates; serve on committees and task forces as assigned.
Maintain accurate records for Clery reporting and the CSUMB Crime Log, coordinating with relevant partners to ensure timely annual reports.

Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Exceptional interpersonal communication and written English; ability to gather and analyze data, conduct investigations, reach credible conclusions, and handle confidential matters with discretion. Proficiency in developing and facilitating training programs, and meeting multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment. Demonstrated experience with Title IX and related federal, state, and local laws, and a strong commitment to serving a diverse community.
Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in social work, psychology, higher education administration, or related field from an accredited university. Five years of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a large public or private organization, preferably a higher education institution, with responsibility for compliance with laws, regulations, and affirmative action policies.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical fluency with Oracle/PeopleSoft, CSU Common Management System, or equivalent student information system.
Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office and Google applications.
Juris Doctorate preferred; extensive investigation experience involving discrimination and sexual violence allegations.
Special Conditions of Employment and Position Designations
All offers contingent upon a successful background check.
Reporting to the Campus Title IX Officer and compliance with CSU Executive Orders 1095, 1096, and 1097.
Mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act; compliance with Executive Order 1083.
Campus Security Authority; participation in Clery training and reporting per federal and state law.
Designation as a sensitive position with responsibility for the safety of minors and confidential personal data.
May require occasional evenings and/or weekends.
Physical Environment Office setting; requires computer use at a desk for extended periods. Occasional travel between campus locations and off‑campus sites.
