TITLE:
MCFR Supplier Project Engineer
TerraPower is seeking a Supplier Project Engineer to support the Molten Chloride Fast Reactor (MCFR) Program and the Molten Chloride Reactor Experiment (MCRE). This position reports to the MCFR Project Management Discipline Manager and is responsible for procurement coordination, project management, and delivery of key equipment and systems for the MCRE program. The role is hybrid and requires onsite presence three days per week at our Bellevue, WA headquarters or Everett, WA lab.
Responsibilities
Manage supplier performance through application of project management practices overseeing cost, schedule, contract scope, submittals, and resources.
Facilitate supplier selection activities, leading RFPs through Bid, Evaluation, and Award (BEA) to select the best offer for goods, works, and services.
Collaborate with internal technical and commercial teams to ensure fidelity to contract and technical direction with suppliers.
Develop statements of work (SOW) and project plans to execute supplier projects that meet program objectives.
Coordinate technical review of supplier deliverables and ensure appropriate responses.
Manage interfaces between suppliers and the MCFR technical team.
Support contract administration and commercial activities as needed to implement projects.
Manage submittals between supplier and MCFR Team.
Maintain awareness of supplier technical capabilities, organization changes, and relationships to provide positive feedback to MCFR.
Key Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience for level 10, or 10 years for level 11 (advanced degree may partially substitute).
Preference for experience in procurement of electrical, instrumentation, vessels, and piping in a production environment.
Demonstrated skills in technical direction of suppliers and managing contractual/commercial aspects of supplier relationships.
Previous experience in technical interface with engineering groups for supplier review and input, including earned value management.
Experience defining supplier scope, developing statements of work and RFPs.
PMP or CAPM certification preferred.
Experience managing cost and schedule in safety‑related manufacturing and construction preferred.
Experience qualifying components or commercial‑grade dedication preferred.
Proven project controls and organizational tools and processes.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
High degree of trust and integrity, open communication, respect, and teamwork orientation.
Job Functions
Motor Abilities: Sitting and standing for extended periods, bending/stooping, grasping/gripping, fine motor control.
Physical exertion: Minimal, ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Repetitive work: Prolonged.
Special Senses: Visual and audio focused work, PPE compliance.
Work Conditions: Stairs, typing/keyboard, standard and/or sitting working environment >8 hrs/day.
Travel: 10‑25%.
