Job Description Gilead's mission is to discover, develop and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life‑threatening illnesses worldwide. The Regional Director, Sales HCV, is responsible for representing Gilead’s products and services to a defined customer base, generating and growing a sales team focused on consistently achieving or exceeding regional sales targets within a specific geographic area, including in‑person representation and face‑to‑face meetings with healthcare practitioners within the assigned region. The role focuses on training specialists to establish strong working relationships with healthcare practices in order to provide timely delivery of disease awareness information, clinical updates, and education. The Regional Director possesses strong analytical, training, and communications skills and a proven record of sales success with multiple award recognitions. The Regional Director should have the ability to synthesize various market data sources to guide their team in conjunction with national direction. This unique opportunity supports the Florida region.

Primary Responsibilities

Exhibit leadership of the region and leadership within the organization by setting a standard of excellence.

Demonstrate a commitment to Gilead's ongoing inclusion and diversity efforts.

Exercise judgment, integrity, and equitable management practices necessary to guide day‑to‑day activities of a diverse cross‑section of individuals.

Develop and maintain solid customer relationships with key executives, decision influencers, and decision‑makers at major medical centers, clinics, and other accounts.

Track and reinforce measures of sales force effectiveness at the regional level to meet corporate sales objectives.

Coordinate with leadership across Gilead functions (National Accounts, Marketing, Medical Scientists and other internal teams) on appropriate cross‑functional projects.

Analyze and present scientific/technical details by bringing a thorough understanding of pharmaceutical marketing and sales regulations, guidelines, and policies.

Proactively share knowledge of new product or disease state developments, including new considerations in the pros and cons of a product protocol.

Provide counseling and coaching to the sales team to enhance their selling skills, develop product and disease state knowledge, customer focus, and time management.

Recruit, hire, and manage a team of specialists within the Gilead Sales organization; create learning plans, recommend training and development solutions, and provide mentoring and coaching.

Serve as communication liaison between home office and region to identify and resolve issues, opportunities, and competitive activities.

Clearly define roles, responsibilities, and measurable outcomes for all activities of the specialist team; regularly measure success, document, and provide feedback on performance.

Takes a lead role in representing the company at professional events and promoting company products at such events.

Utilize a high level of business acumen to analyze and coordinate activities from identified industry trends and competitors’ resources and practices.

Utilize exceptional project management skills to lead cross‑functional projects with broad organizational impact.

Have a proven track record of success in all respects of selling, including technical knowledge, selling techniques, interpreting/analyzing data, and an in‑depth understanding of the medical field and pharmaceutical industry.

Demonstrate ability to communicate business direction and vision to the region.

Demonstrate an ability to understand, analyze, and effectively communicate scientific/technical business information by understanding applicable pharmaceutical marketing and sales regulations, guidelines, and policies.

Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal and relationship‑building skills, influencing and negotiating skills.

Understand and provide guidance on relevant human resource management issues, demonstrating the capability to navigate complex people management issues.

Demonstrate an ability to manage large projects and work within cross‑functional teams; adhere to operational excellence practices for administrative work.

Have proven experience in managing a successful product launch and/or product turnaround.

Be viewed by managers and peers as an expert on industry trends and product and disease state knowledge.

Be responsible for representing Gilead’s products and services to a defined customer base, generating and growing sales, and consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets within the assigned region.

Engage in reasonable travel within the assigned area to conduct face‑to‑face meetings with healthcare practitioners.

Satisfy any onsite visitation requirements of healthcare practitioners within the assigned area where applicable (e.g., vaccinations, drug and background screenings).

Perform essential duties satisfactorily; meet regulatory and compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

2 years of relevant commercial experience in marketing, sales, or related commercial function.

Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to set vision, lead change, and coach/mentor others.

Strategic thinker capable of formulating, developing, and executing strategy.

Demonstrated excellence in project management and effective management of multiple priorities.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, interact, resolve conflict, and drive consensus among diverse cultures and disciplines.

Executive presence with the ability to command respect through sound business judgment and clear decision‑making.

Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.

The salary range for this position is: $205,615.00 - $266,090.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock‑based long‑term incentives, paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company‑sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
