Overview

The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District is seeking a highly motivated Administrative Analyst I/II to provide high-level support across District divisions, with a focus on purchasing, vendor relationships, contract compliance, and cost-effective procurement strategies. The role involves maintaining accurate financial and procurement records, supporting spending analysis, and identifying cost-saving opportunities to drive efficiency and compliance. Under direction, Administrative Analysts perform detailed and complex professional-level accounting and analytical work in various program areas, including budgeting, policy development, and program analysis. The position may coordinate District division efforts, manage special projects, and represent the District with internal and external stakeholders. Administrative Analyst I is the entry level; Administrative Analyst II is the journey level with greater independence and responsibility. Responsibilities

Perform research and analysis on administrative, management, fiscal, and organizational issues; gather data from multiple sources; develop recommendations and action plans with supervisor or management staff. Prepare and compile management reports, including cost analyses and supporting documentation; present findings and prepare final reports and presentations as needed. Analyze administrative, management, program, and organizational policies and procedures; advise on parameters for analysis and background information; assess impact of legislation and regulations on policies and procedures. Support budget development, administration, and resource planning; conduct needs and trend analyses; review budget requests; monitor expenditures and ensure alignment with budget parameters. Develop vendor relationships, ensure contract compliance, and support strategic purchasing; source, negotiate, and purchase goods and services for all divisions; maintain accurate procurement records for spending analysis and cost-saving opportunities. Qualifications

Possession of one of the following is required: High school diploma or GED and two years of full-time experience in Administrative Analyst or equivalent class demonstrating core competencies; or Baccalaureate degree and two years of verifiable full-time professional analytical experience in areas such as administrative policy, legislative analysis, economic analysis, budgetary analysis, complex financial analysis, or grants/contracts management; or Graduate degree (Master’s level or higher) and one year of verifiable full-time professional analytical experience in the above areas. Special Requirements

Incumbents may be required to work evenings and weekends. Incumbents may be assigned lead responsibilities for short- or long-term projects. Lead responsibility as administrator or lead analyst for support of the District-wide budget system may be assigned. Additional Information
