Our team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to collaborate with software, network, and systems engineers in designing, implementing, and deploying scalable software solutions that meet customer requirements, overcome the limitations of traditional networking, and support highly available environments. The Senior Software Engineer plays an active role in the architecture and design of software components, focusing on applications that leverage virtualization, microservices, SDN, NFV, and big data platforms. They address moderately complex technical assignments requiring sound judgment and problem-solving, take initiative, think critically, understand broader implications, and provide informed recommendations. They typically work independently on daily tasks, with general guidance for new assignments.

Job Responsibilities
Technical Engineering Services: Drives engineering projects by developing software solutions; conducting tests and inspections; preparing reports and calculations. May supervise base and associate level engineers as needed. Understands system protocols, operations, and data flows. Independently develops a complete software stack. Possesses knowledge of building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete software and automation tasks. Engages in independent study of current technologies. Innovation
Contributes to designs to implement new ideas using new frameworks to improve existing or new systems, processes, or services. Reviews existing designs and processes to identify more efficient ways to complete workloads. Understands the creation of company IP. Technical Leadership
Collaborates with technical teams and uses system expertise to deliver solutions. Continuously learns and shares knowledge of existing and new technologies. Contributes to the development of others through mentoring or in-house workshops. Technology Strategy
Contributes to technology options that support business goals. Understands current technologies that support business goals and can independently develop a complete software stack. Collaborates with system engineers to define system requirements and automation requirements. Technical Writing
Writes basic documentation on how technology works. Documents new code and systems used, and documents system designs and business requirements for management consideration. Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Required) 4-7+ years of technical engineering experience (Required) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Core Skills: Linux REST API development Java/Spring Boot SQL and NoSQL databases Cloud experience (preferably with Kubernetes) Git, GitLab or GitHub Preferred Skills: JavaScript or TypeScript for UI integration and front-end interaction with APIs Familiarity with large-scale, complex systems Strong understanding of automation and data pipelines General Competencies: Communication (Required) Customer Service (Required) Analytics (Required) Technical Writing (Required) At least 18 years of age Legally authorized to work in the United States Travel : Travel Required (Yes/No): Yes DOT Regulated : DOT Regulated Position (Yes/No): No Safety Sensitive Position (Yes/No): No Base Pay Range: $113,600 - $205,000 Corporate Bonus Target: 15% The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role.
